Excellent Book for any age who wants to learn Hindi!!!

I bought this book for my son who is currently studying in Fifth Grade.
Being born and brought up in USA it is tough for the children to learn their mother tongue.
We encourage him to learn Hindi and found this book "Let's Learn Hindi Matras - by Smiti Gandhi"
There are lot of good examples in Hindi and English translation with pictures which are very easy to follow.
Short stories in the book simplifies the concept of the matras.

Good for kids who grow up with some Hindi, but not the best for people totally new to the language.

This book is a good resource for learning how to read in Hindi once you know the alphabet. It's got a lot of practice for each matra, and vocabulary words. One thing I would say is that it seems to be written for kids who've grown up around Hindi and know at least some vocabulary, rather than for people who are totally new to the language -- there are a lot of places where the exercises require you to know the definitions of words that the book hasn't defined yet. A good dictionary can get around this, though. My tip for anyone new to Hindi would be that, for each of the "Join the letters and matras together to write the words in Hindi" exercises, you look up the word that you just wrote, and treat it as a vocabulary word, the same as you would for the words that are actually presented as vocabulary words.

Excellent resource for beginners in Hindi !!

This book for Hindi Matras is easy to follow and is an excellent material to practice writing Hindi letters. Particularly enjoyed the stories and poems emphasizing the corresponding letter blends and showing related words. Helps teaching a lot of new words to my 7 year old son. Really appreciate the effort put by the author in organizing fun stories and rhymes that makes learning Hindi more entertaining and fun.
